That's the ticket: e-gov vendor expands reach

A company that allows people to pay speeding tickets online, PointOfPay.com,

has partnered with a leading judicial software company, paving the way to

possibly reach as many as 300 jurisdictions.

Professional Computer Software Services supplies court applications to more

than 300 jurisdictions in 16 states. PCSS will encourage its clients to

use PointOfPay.com's CourtATM product and will develop interfaces between

the two companies' products.

Harold Cook, president and managing partner of Citadel Holding Group, LLC,

which is a major shareholder of PointOfPay.com, stressed that the partnership

does not mean that all jurisdictions are going to use the software. But

"it is a strong endorsement by a company with a great reputation with hundreds

of jurisdictions. The importance is the credibility that they bring."

PointOfPay.com, formerly called E-Court Inc., was started because company

founder James Chadwick had difficulty in paying a ticket he received outside

of his home jurisdiction. The site allows people to log on, enter their

ticket information and pay using a credit card.

CourtATM software also completes the back-end transactions of paying tickets.

Whereas most ticket-paying software only benefits customers, Cook said,

PointOfPay.com also updates court records, reducing administrative costs

for the court system.

PCSS customers include such larger cities as Houston and Austin, Texas,

Kansas City, Mo., and Biloxi, Miss.
