Viador picked as platform for fed portals

Five federal systems integrators have chosen Viador Inc.'s E-Portal Suite
as the platform they will use to serve their government customers, Viador
announced this week.
"These integrators will use Viador's portal platform to provide government
with proven technologies that are very popular in the commercial space,"
said Phyllis Dunn, Viador's vice president for e-government, at the E-Gov
trade show in Washington, D.C.
Viador signed new reseller or partnership agreements with the following
integrators:
* Andersen Consulting, which resold the E-Portal Suite to the Education
Department for the Student Financial Assistance Modernization Blueprint
project.
* Logicon Inc., which through its Inter-National Research Institute resold
the portal product to the Defense Department for a secure and personalized
way to share multiple sources of e-government information.
*Autonomy Corp., which formed a partnership with Viador to manage information
for the departments of Education and Defense.
* Exolve Inc., which formed a partnership to provide solutions for the DOD's
chief information officers and the agency's IT workers.
* Titan Corp., which resells Viador's product as part of its Intelligence
Community Portal for government intelligence agencies.
Dunn said Viador's proven security features and methodologies make it a
natural fit for the federal space because they lead to reduced costs and
fast implementations through the systems integrators. Also, the fact that
Viador is on the General Services Administration schedule and is approved
for commercial off-the-shelf implementation helps provide good price points
for customers.
"We can have an implementation operational in less than 42 days and then
we phase in additional applications in six-week intervals," Dunn said. Any
agency that collects information from multiple sources, uses legacy systems
and needs to communicate with different constituencies could benefit from
the portal solutions, he added.
"Government is a vertical market within Viador, and we already have wins
at the DOD, Education, the IRS and the FAA, so we're really targeting health
care and education through these partnerships," she said.
