blocks offensive or restricted files specified by an administrator, and

compiles reports on the kinds of files that are downloaded and from which

workstations.

The program, StorageCeNTral, is a Windows NT/2000 storage solution that

allows administrators to monitor, control and enforce restrictions on the

server among computer users and groups, according to the company. Administrators

can also allocate space so that even inadvertent downloads do not exceed

the pre-set limits.

Keeping out files that potentially threaten a system with a virus can

be done by barring users from downloading and running Visual Basic script

or executable files. Administrators can also block known viruses by identifying

them by name, according to the company.
