Online voter guide helps Oregon choose

Oregon's Online Voters' Guide

Oregon citizens can go to a new Online Voters' Guide to bone up on their

election choices without having to wait until printed versions arrive in

the mail.

Printed editions of the voter pamphlet, separated into sections for

ballot measures and candidate information, began arriving in homes the week

of Oct. 9. The Web-based version for measures was available Sept. 25. The

head start may come in handy because the document for ballot measures alone

is 376 pages.

"It's the largest pamphlet in Oregon history," said Jen Stineff, an

assistant to Secretary of State Bill Bradbury. "This is the most measures

we've had on the ballot since 1914."

There are 26 statewide measures and 607 arguments filed in support of

or in opposition to these measures, according to the Online Voters' Guide.

The Online Voters' Guide received 6,277 hits as of Oct. 19, not including

several days when Web-tracking operations were out of service, Stineff said.
