GSA picks chief technology officer
As CTO, Christopher Fornecker will assist in developing and enforcing information technology policies across the agency

The General Services Administration announced Tuesday the appointment of
a new chief technology officer who will assist in developing and enforcing
information technology policies across the agency.
As CTO, Christopher Fornecker will be part of the office of the GSA
chief information officer.
In addition to helping form agencywide IT policies, Fornecker will lead
GSA's technology purchases, monitor projects and examine emerging technologies
that could be used to enhance the agency's performance, according to a statement
from Michael Carleton, GSA's chief information officer.
Fornecker previously served at the Defense Department as assistant deputy
undersecretary of Defense for advanced systems and concepts.
