What is DJAS?

The Defense Joint Accounting System is designed to replace existing Defense Department accounting and financial systems. It offers users real-time funds control and better access to financial information through ad hoc queries, according to Federal Sources Inc.

Not only will DJAS help DOD comply with the Government Performance and Results Act, its electronic signature capability means it will also speed up the accounting approval process.

In all, 390 Army organizations, 36 Military Traffic Management Command activities and 11 DOD agencies, including security assistant installation users, plan to field DJAS.
