Demand for information technology professionals is spread more evenly across disciplines in 2001 and down overall from last year, according to the study by the Information Technology Association of America.
Once again, hiring managers predict they will add more technical support professionals than any other category of worker. Demand for enterprise systems professionals is up more than 62 percent, and demand for network designers and administrators is up 13 percent. Demand in other categories is down. Here are the positions managers plan to fill in 2001:
