Generals moving up IT ranks

Several Army generals essential to the service's IT efforts are moving into new IT-related positions

Several Army generals essential to the service's information technology efforts are moving up the ranks into new IT-related positions.

Maj. Gen. Steven Boutelle, the program executive officer for command, control and communication systems, Fort Monmouth, N.J., will become the director of programs and architecture in the Army CIO's office.

Boutelle will replace Brig. Gen. James Hylton, who will take over Signal Command, replacing Maj. Gen. William Russ. Russ is destined to replace Maj. Gen. Robert Nabors as head of Communications-Electronics Command at Fort Monmouth. Nabors is scheduled to retire this summer.

Brig. Gen. Michael Mazzucchi, deputy for systems acquisition at Fort Monmouth, will replace Boutelle.

Brig. Gen. Gregory Premo, deputy director of operations at the Defense Information Systems Agency, Arlington, Va., will become the deputy chief of staff for information management at Training and Doctrine Command, Fort Monroe, Va.
