White House refreshes site
New site includes all White House information issued since the beginning of the Bush administration
A redesigned White House Web site was unveiled Aug. 31, replacing the one quickly put up after President Bush took office.
The new site, still at www.whitehouse.gov, was developed after administration officials examined many federal and state agency sites in an effort to make their site as user-friendly as possible, according to Tucker Eskew, director of media affairs at the White House.
The site includes all of the White House information issued since the beginning of the Bush administration, but it is presented in sections based on actual areas of the White House. For example, the 'West Wing' includes news and policy information, and the "Oval Office" has information about the president.
The media affairs staff designed the site in-house, with help from White House contractors in place since the Clinton administration.
