Air Force checking climate
Survey goes online this week to ?tap the pulse' of the service on management and work-related topics
The Air Force Manpower and Innovation Agency will launch the 2002 Organization Climate Survey this week to "tap the pulse" of the service on management and work-related topics.
The survey, conducted under the direction of Gen. John Jumper, chief of staff of the Air Force, will be available online Jan. 22 to March 8. It includes about 100 questions and can be completed in about 45 minutes.
This is third time since 1997 that the biennial survey has been issued. It also marks the second time it has been given to the worldwide Air Force population on a Web-based platform supported by software from Raosoft Inc.
Scott Hopkins, the Air Force's survey program manager, said the 1999 survey got about 200,000 responses, but was plagued by slow response rates for users. However, that problem has been solved by putting the software at strategic regional locations, and the goal for this year is to exceed 300,000 responses.
The survey originally was scheduled for release in October, but it was delayed because of the launches of operations Enduring Freedom and Noble Eagle.
