Roster change

Nancy Dorn was confirmed by the Senate Feb. 14 as deputy director of the Office of Management and Budget, the lead official for the Bush administration's governmentwide management initiatives.

As deputy director, Dorn is responsible for developing the federal budget, but she also is the chairwoman of the President's Management Council, which is responsible for ensuring that agencies implement the President's Management Agenda.

She replaces Sean O'Keefe, who left OMB to become administrator of NASA in December 2001.

Dorn last served as Vice President Dick Cheney's assistant for legislative affairs, and as the senior policy adviser to House Speaker Dennis Hastert (R-Ill.).

Retired Army Gen. Hugh Shelton has been named to the Anteon Corp. board of directors, the company announced Feb. 19. Shelton recently retired as the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, culminating a 37-year military career. During his tenure as chairman, Shelton crafted Joint Vision 2020 -- the road map for the Future Joint Force. He also established Joint Forces Command to consolidate experimentation efforts and guide the transformation of the U.S. armed forces for the 21st century.

Anteon, which has its headquarters in Fairfax, Va., provides information technology and engineering solutions through its affiliated companies to federal government, commercial and international customers.

Michael Brave has joined API Services Inc., a security and consulting firm, as director of law enforcement and security consulting, the company announced Feb. 14.

Brave also will help API Technologies LLC as the federal government and special projects director, assisting with the deployment of facial recognition strategies in partnership with Imagis Technologies Inc.

Brave previously was chief of the Intelligence and Investigative Operations Unit in the Office of Enforcement Operations, Criminal Division, at the Justice Department.
