GSA adds auctions

Watch out eBay, here comes FirstGov.The General Services Administration earlier this month added a shopping and auctions section to its FirstGov portal. The new firstgov.gov feature also is the first milestone for the Federal Asset Sales e-government initiative managed by GSA.GSA divided what people can buy into eight categories, letting users participate in federal auctions for government property from cars and boats to computers, furniture and paint.Visitors also can buy souvenirs and gifts from agencies and shop at specific agency auctions or sites.
