Former NMCI exec heads to Unisys

Rick Rosenburg, who headed EDS' efforts on the Navy Marine Corps Intranet from the end of 1999 until the middle of last year, has left the company to become a managing partner at Unisys Corp.

Rosenburg was EDS' program executive for NMCI even before the company was awarded the $6.9 billion contract in October 2000. In July 2002, he received a promotion to lead the development and deployment of similar enterprise efforts for other government clients.

He was succeeded by Bill Richard, a 22-year EDS veteran and formerly enterprise client executive for EDS' business with Continental Airlines Inc.

Rosenburg started his employment at Unisys today as a managing partner for defense in Unisys' global sector. He will be responsible for "end-to-end services provided to the Department of Defense," according to Unisys spokeswoman Lisa Meyer.

"He will also play a lead role in our homeland security strategy," she said.

Rosenburg is traveling and was unavailable for comment.

Rosenburg led NMCI through its first tumultuous months, when the rollout was slower than expected, largely due to the number of legacy systems the Navy has to eliminate. He took the project through its first major milestone when it was given approval to roll out an additional 100,000 seats.
