Reed joining Acquisition Solutions

Anne Reed will become president of Acquisition Solutions, a consulting firm that helps the federal government retool its procurement practices, the company announced today.

Reed most recently has been president of EDS' state and local government group. Prior to that, she was the chief information officer at the Agriculture Department. She has had more than 20 years experience with the federal government.

"Anne brings outstanding leadership and management skills to the helm as we continue our corporate journey," said Chip Mather, co-founder of Acquisition Solutions. "Her experience at senior levels of government and industry will ensure that we remain true to our core values as we continue to grow."

Acquisition Solutions was founded in 1996 to help federal agencies use acquisition strategies to meet agency missions. Its clients include the General Services Administration, the Coast Guard, the Commerce Department and the Army.

"The company has been on the forefront in assisting government in transforming procurement practices to assure that government gets the best value — a commitment that I share," Reed said.

Reed has long been an advocate for public-private partnerships. Harvard University's John F. Kennedy School of Government recognized her with its Alumni Achievement Award in 2001. In 2002, she was named to Virginia's Chief Information Officer Advisory Board.
