ACS gets DOD IT, outsourcing orders
DOD awarded more than $54 million in IT task orders to Affiliated Computer Services
The Defense Department recently awarded more than $54 million in information technology task orders to Affiliated Computer Services Inc. (ACS), a provider of business process and IT outsourcing solutions.
Under a General Services Administration blanket purchase agreement, ACS was awarded new task orders worth $42.2 million and $12.5 million in task order renewals, according to the Dallas-based company.
Under the renewed and new task orders, ACS will provide IT, data management and professional engineering services to the DOD and intelligence community. The company would not name its specific customers because of security concerns.
The five-year contracts, totaling $54.7 million, were awarded Dec. 30, 2002, and work began last month, according to an ACS spokesman.
