AT&T develops Army training system

The Army has selected AT&T Government Solutions to help develop an advanced combat simulation system. Under the 13-month, $2 million contract announced today, AT&T will help define the emerging technologies and communications systems to be used for training in the future.

The award came from the Army Program Executive Office, Simulation, Training, and Instrumentation in Orlando, Fla. AT&T Government Solutions maintains a professional services staff in Orlando specializing in modeling, simulation and systems integration. The contract is called One Tactical Engagement Simulation System.

Chris Rooney, president of AT&T Government Solutions, said in a statement that Phase One work will involve both concept development and architectural framework development to help the Army determine what technologies it should consider in developing live training simulation systems.
