GIS task order awarded for Air Force
Titan Corp. will provide geospatial information and services for bases in the Pacific Air Forces
The General Services Administration has awarded a $69 million task order for geospatial information and services (GIS) for the Air Force bases within the Pacific Air Forces.
The award, announced today, came through GSA's Federal Systems Integration and Management Center and went to Titan Corp. through the Federal Technology Service's Millennia Lite contract.
The contract spans a maximum of seven years and eight months, and will have a minimum value of more than $69 million if all of the options are exercised.
Titan's work will include legacy systems migration, new enterprise systems development, and related GIS support to the U.S. Air Force GeoBase Program and other major commands and Defense Department organizations worldwide.
"GIS" can also stand for geographic information systems. Whichever words are behind the acronym, the term refers to computer systems that can build and display customized maps and other geography data.
Pacific Air Forces, with headquarters at Hickam Air Force Base, Hawaii, is one of nine major commands of the U.S. Air Force.
