Following the testimony from Thrift Savings Plan officials at last week's House Government Reform Committee hearing that Web site malfunctions had been corrected, Rep. Jo Ann Davis (R-Va.) said she had sent a staff member to access the TSP Web site a few minutes earlier.
She said her staffer had been unable to reach the site, instead finding a message that it was "under maintenance." The remark caused a brief round of applause from citizens in the gallery.
