Anteon wins Army Reserve deal
The Army's Reserve Command will pay Anteon up to $40 million for enterprise data centers

Anteon International Corp. won a contract worth up to $40 million for enterprise data centers to help with the transition to the next generation of the Army Reserve Network (ARNET).
The Army's Reserve Command in Atlanta today announced the contract award. Fairfax, Va.-based Anteon. Anteon will design, implement and operate primary and backup enterprise data centers required for the transition from ARNET to ARNET II. The data centers will provide secure access to information for Army Reserve users.
Anteon will integrate and consolidate existing business, desktop management and Web-based applications into a single environment. The contract includes one base year and a four-year option that could bring the total value to $40 million.
Computer Associates will act as a subcontractor to Anteon.
According to the "Reserve Components Functional Area Plan for Objective Force 2015," written early this year, the transition from ARNET to ARNET II will start in the third quarter of fiscal 2003 and finish in fiscal 2005.
