CSC wins $36 million Navy deal

Computer Sciences Corp. will provide business and program management support for the Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center.

Computer Sciences Corp will get up to $36 million to provide business and program management support for the Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center (Spawar) in Charleston, S.C.

The contract, announced today, was awarded earlier this summer. With one base year and four one-year options, the deal has a potential value of $36 million if all options are exercised.

CSC will help Spawar's command and control systems department analyze its business operations and determine which commercial best practices should be applied. CSC will also provide program and project management, financial management, information technology and administrative support.

The company has succeeded in reengineering projects at other Spawar offices, said Aaron Fuller, a CSC vice president and general manager.

"The CSC team demonstrated that we have the capability and experience required to produce repeatable results," he said.
