CSC gets $1.1 billion simulator deal
The 20-year contract covers computer simulators for the Army helicopter forces.
Computer Sciences Corp. officials announced today the company won a 20-year, $1.1 billion contract to provide computer simulators for the Army's helicopter forces.
The company, based in El Segundo, Calif., will develop, build and support simulators for the Army's Flight School XXI initiative. The contract covers 12 years, with one eight-year option.
CSC's Flight School XXI industry team includes FlightSafety International Inc.'s simulation systems division, based in Broken Arrow, Okla.; Intelligent Decision Systems Inc., based in Fairfax, Va.; ISERA Group LLC, based in Santa Barbara, Calif.; L-3 Communications' link simulation and training division, based in Arlington, Texas; and NLX Corp., based in Sterling, Va.
The Army's Program Executive Office, Simulation, Training and Instrumentation in Orlando, Fla., awarded the Flight School XXI simulator contract. Flight School XXI aims to improve Army aviation by giving pilots more education and training in the helicopters they will fly in their service units.
