Army awards ITES contracts

The Army awarded five contracts Oct. 22 in the second part of the $500 million Information Technology Enterprise Solutions program.

The Army awarded five contracts Oct. 22 in the second part of the $500 million Information Technology Enterprise Solutions program.

ITES supports the service's enterprise infrastructure and infostructure goals with equipment and services.

The Program Executive Office-Enterprise Information Systems, located at Fort Belvoir, Va., issued ITES Functional Area-2 contracts to IBM Corp., Lockheed Martin Corp., Northrop Grumman Corp., NCI Information Systems and QSS Group Inc. The contracts cover three years with two, two-year option periods, said in an Army PEO-EIS statement.

Support services under ITES include:

* Asset management.

* Business process re-engineering.

* Development of software interfaces.

Enterprise design.

* Enterprise IT policy and planning.

* Information assurance.

Information and knowledge engineering.

* Integration and consolidation.

Market research and prototyping.

Requirements analysis.

* Seat management.

Software configuration.

* Technology insertion.

Test and evaluation.

PEO-EIS last month awarded ITES hardware contracts to Dell Inc., GTSI Corp., Hewlett-Packard Co. and Lockheed Martin. The equipment deals — which cover three years with two options of two years each — covered managed platforms, network equipment, servers, storage systems and workstations.
