Commerce rolls out trade info site

Get your trade stats there.

Department of Commerce

The Commerce Department launched a new Web site today as an interactive resource for annual U.S. trade statistics.

TradeStats Express is designed to be a user-friendly site for viewing and downloading U.S. trade data, including information regarding exports, imports and trade balances for the years 1989 through 2002.

"It will be especially useful for U.S. businesses that need quick access to U.S. trade figures in order to identify the most promising export prospects for their products," said Linda Conlin, assistant secretary of commerce for trade development.

TradeStats users can call upon interactive menus to retrieve specific data sets. Search results can be displayed in detailed maps, graphs and tables.

MapInfo Corp developed the TradeStats Express site.
