GSA names Fedsim director
Lisa Akers was promoted to director of GSA's Federal Systems Integration and Management Center.
Lisa Akers, former deputy director of the General Services Administration's Federal Systems Integration and Management Center (Fedsim), has been promoted to director of the center.
GSA officials officials needed a new center director after Tim McCurdy went on personal leave from the agency, although he is still a GSA employee. Akers got the nod last month because she knows the program, said Bob Suda, assistant commissioner for information technology solutions for GSA's Federal Technology Service.. Even more than that, it was "her experience, her quality of dealing with people," he said. "I would say that her main quality is the way she interacts with the staff."
Fedsim offers agencies services to help them buy products and services using GSA's contract vehicles, including Millennia and Millennia Lite.
