CACI gets naval system contract
Spawar will pay $133 million for development and integration of the Naval Tactical Command Support System.
The Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command (Spawar) this week awarded a $133 million contract to CACI International Inc. for information technology services to Spawar's Norfolk, Va. operations.
The contract, which spans five years, calls for Arlington, Va.-based CACI to develop, design and integrate the Naval Tactical Command Support System across U.S. naval vessels.
Naval Tactical Command Support System provides software applications and hardware to perform the supply, maintenance and administrative information management functions for ships, submarines, and Naval and Marine Corps aviation squadrons. It is the primary system for management and assessment of unit material and personnel.
It also manages nontactical information resources through the use of standardized hardware and software to meet the force readiness and sustainment requirements of the Navy and Marines. The command support system also includes upgrades of existing Navy systems.
A combination of two previous contracts, the new award continues CACI's 22-year relationship with Spawar.
