Officials from the Homeland Security Department plan to hold an industry day on Dec. 16 for businesses seeking contracts to develop business and financial management systems for DHS.

With 22 disparate agencies merged into one, DHS officials want systems to handle back-end operations that include financial management, budget, acquisition and asset management requirements.

The session, limited to 500 vendors, will explain the DHS program known as eMerge 2 — Electronically Managed Enterprise Resources for Government Efficiency and Effectiveness program. Officials from the department's Resource Management Transformation Office will conduct the session about what the department wants. Would-be attendees must register by Dec. 9. Vendors will be selected on a first-come first-served basis.
