Lockheed to develop training for airport screeners

Transportation Security Administration officials selected Lockheed Martin Corp. to manage the development of a next generation training program for airport security screeners.
Within the agreement, Safe Passage International LLC of Rochester, N.Y., has been added as a subcontractor to develop object recognition training software. This software is planned for deployment in May 2004.
The training program will consist of a Web-based regimen to support training on advanced X-ray systems for airport security screeners.
"To win the war on terror, we have to stay ahead of those who would do us harm," said Adm. James Loy, TSA administrator "This contract will help make sure we do that."
The contract will run through May 2004 and is worth $572,862.
