Techs on carriers will be able to retrieve information online.
Instead of poring over bound technical manuals, technicians fixing equipment or systems aboard the Navy's fleet of aircraft carriers will soon be able to use Extensible Markup Language-based applications to retrieve information online.
Some of the benefits:
Users can tag data, allowing it to be searched and cross-referenced in a more complex, intelligent way.
Users can update manuals in real time instead of changing paper-based documents every time a modification to an existing publication is made.
