CSC wins $88 million ship contract
The company will provide the Future Concepts and Surface Ship Design Group with support services.
Computer Sciences Corp. (CSC) won a task order worth up to $88 million to provide professional services to the Future Concepts and Surface Ship Design Group, officials said today.
Under terms of the order, CSC will provide the group with support services in naval architecture, engineering, ship design project management, ship design team and site support, technical library management, and other related tasks.
The task order has one base year and four one-year options, which could exceed $88 million if all are exercised.
The group serves as the Naval Sea Systems Command's technical authority for all surface ship design and engineering. It directs and develops early-stage ship designs and feasibility studies.
"The Future Concepts and Surface Ship Design Group provides the technical leadership that ensures the U.S. Navy's ships are operationally superior while remaining affordable," said Aaron Fuller, vice president and general manager of CSC's Navy/Marine Corps and Missile Defense organization.
