Transit agency site to use RedDot
The Transportation Department's Federal Transit Administration will use RedDot Solutions software to control the agency's online content.
The Transportation Department's Federal Transit Administration will use RedDot Solutions Corp. software to control the agency's online content.
When the Transportation Department's Federal Transit Administration launches its new Web site, RedDot's Enterprise Content Management Suite will let non-information technology staff update the site's information. The software is designed to let users across an organization keep Web content current and eliminate a backlog of posting duties.
The approach will move FTA away from the traditional method of having a single Webmaster or office responsible for updating the site's content, although it will vary access privileges among users.
"Federal agencies of all sizes face unique issues within their online environment but share the same necessity of having to produce and post information to their Web sites in a a timely manner," said Detlef Kamps, president of RedDot Solutions.
FTA officials do not yet have a specific launch date for the new site.
