Anteon wins $105 million pact

Defense Department Secretary Donald Rumsfeld today awarded a systems engineering contract worth potentially $105 million to Anteon International Corp.

Under the deal, Anteon officials will provide support services in the areas of mission rehearsal, homeland security, and command, control, communications, computers, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (C4ISR). The contract could extend over six years and calls for Anteon officials to provide systems engineering and professional services to the intelligence community.

The overall objective is to ensure the interoperability of C4ISR infrastructures and homeland security systems within the United States and among its coalition partners.

Anteon has real-time information exchange systems to support NATO, Unified Commands, and coalition forces engaged in combat operations and the war on terrorism.

Joseph Kampf, Anteon's president and chief executive officer, said in a statement that the company has experience over more than a dozen years in supporting mission rehearsal programs including the Navy's Tactical Operation Scene, a system widely used in planning and executing air strikes during combat operations in Iraq and Afghanistan.

In late December, Anteon won a $56 million Navy contract to provide systems engineering and technical services for combat support and auxiliary systems on ships.
