Deal awarded for DOD, FBI security plan
Knowledge Consulting Group will update security guidelines, identify potential security lapses and provide support.
The Defense Department awarded a $21.4 million contract today to the Knowledge Consulting Group to write a security plan for DOD's Counterintelligence Field Activity and the FBI's Foreign Terrorist Tracking Force.
Knowledge Consulting Group, located in Sterling, Va., will update the organizations' security guidelines, identify potential security lapses and provide security support, said Maryann Hirsch, company president, during a Feb. 18 telephone interview.
DOD "always had security policies in place. But after [Sept. 11, 2001,] it wants improved preparedness," Hirsch said.
The company during the past three years provided systems infrastructure support services to the Counterintelligence Field Activity. The contract includes developing safeguards against spies and moles.
