Toregas to retire from Public Tech
After 32 years of working with local governments, Costis Toregas plans to step down as chairman of Public Technology Inc.
Costis Toregas, president of Public Technology Inc., announced yesterday he would step down April 1 after 32 years working with local governments.
Toregas will continue with PTI as president emeritus, helping the organization develop strategic plans and initiatives and working on many of its programs and events. PTI serves as the technology arm of the International City/County Management Association, the National League of Cities and the National Association of Counties.
The change in position will allow him to teach and do research, he said.
The board of PTI has already appointed a management committee to search for a replacement. Thom McCloud, chief operating officer, will take over day-to-day responsibilities if the board does not find someone by April 1.
