Deal for Air Force base to use Army's ITES
Transcom and Air Force Air Mobility Command will use NCI Information Systems for software maintenance support under the ITES Functional Area 2 contract.
Officials from the Army's computer shop will announce this afternoon the first task order using the $1 billion Information Technology Enterprise Solutions contract, service officials said.
The Army's Program Executive Office-Enterprise Information Systems, located at Fort Belvoir, Va., plans an ITES announcement today at the office's industry day conference, said PEO-EIS spokeman Steve Larsen. Another PEO-EIS official confirmed the first ITES task order pronouncement will come today.
Transportation Command and Air Force Air Mobility Command has worked on a deal to use the performance-based program for IT services, said an industry official whose company received one of the nine ITES contracts. Transcom and Air Force Air Mobility Command, located at Scott Air Force Base, Ill., will contract with NCI Information Systems Inc., located in Reston, Va., for software maintenance support using the ITES Functional Area 2 contract, the industry official said.
The Army awarded ITES contracts to nine vendors this past fall: four for IT equipment, the Functional Area 1 category, and five for IT services, Functional Area-2.
PEO-EIS originally planned to announce the first ITES task order in mid-December.
