The Defense Department named Paul Tibbits director of the Business Modernization and Systems Integration Program Office.
Tibbits will oversee updating the department's business processes by eliminating redundant computer systems. His office will manage the Business Management Modernization Program, according to a DOD statement issued today.
Defense Department officials want to connect their business systems. Existing ones operate poorly, and they do not work well together, the statement said.
Tibbits founded a consulting firm that focused on business development, marketing and planning. He served 26 years with the Navy, most recently as commanding officer of the Navy Medical Information Management Center.
