The General Services Administration is on track to launch eOffer, an electronic vendor submission system, May 17. Neal Fox, assistant commissioner of the Office of Commercial Acquisition at GSA's Federal Supply Service, affirmed the target date in an e-mail he sent today to industry representatives.
GSA officials are in the final stages of testing the system, Fox wrote in the e-mail. Initially, it will be available for vendors who use GSA schedule contracts, but ultimately, it will be open for all offers, he wrote. Vendors will use a Web browser to prepare and submit proposals.
"In the eOffer process, everything is electronic," Fox wrote. "For the vendor, the process will be easier to understand and use than our current paper-based process.
