Naval Surface Warfare Center

Officials from the Naval Surface Warfare Center in Dahlgren, Va. today announced they have awarded prime contractor status to 154 companies, enabling them to compete for information technology support and services potentially worth $10 billion over 15 years.

Vendors on the prime contractor list can provide services to all of the Naval surface and undersea warfare centers. The Navy's warfare centers support the Naval Sea Systems Command in the design, development and procurement of all weapons systems, logistics and maintenance systems, and undersea warfare command and control systems.

This Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (ID/IQ) contract enables the companies to compete for up to 75,000 task orders worth up to $10 billion total over 15 years, if all options are exercised.

Vendors will service the surface and undersea warfare centers in the seven regions where the companies must qualify to provide support in 21 functional areas, including research and development support; engineering, system engineering and process engineering support; and modeling, simulation and analysis support.

Each contractor can compete for individual task orders solicited within their zone or zones of performance. The government estimates an annual maximum of $1.3 billion in service orders. The awards have five-year base periods with two additional, five-year award terms.
