General Services Administration officials have expanded a center to provide acquisition training for federal officials.
Run by GSA's Federal Supply Service, the FSS Center for Acquisition Excellence will provide training on the GSA schedules, GSA's governmentwide acquisition contracts and the agency's Advantage and e-Buy computer systems.
The center will provide its training via the Internet around the clock, according to GSA officials. It is kicking off this week at the GSA Expo in Orlando, Fla. The center is an expansion of the agency's University of Multiple Award Schedules, adding new courses.
"We are committed to providing the training and education necessary to arm the federal buying community with the tools and knowledge required to perform best-value acquisitions," said FSS Commissioner Donna Bennett in a statement. "The FSS Center for Acquisition Excellence increases the breadth and depth of GSA's successful U-MAS training program, by adding courses and online learning."
