Navy doles out $839M in awards

The Navy has awarded 10-year contracts worth a potential $839.2 million to three companies for engineering analysis, logistics support and other fleet support activities.

Anteon International Corp. of Fairfax, Va.; Amsec LLC of Virginia Beach, Va.; and EG&G Technical Services Inc. of Gaithersburg, Md., each won an indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity contract for fleet support activities. Each of the contractors will share the minimum guarantee of $50,000. The contracts were each awarded for one base year with nine one-year follow-on options.

For Anteon, the base year amount is $22.9 million and the contract ceiling, if all options are exercised, will be $253.7 million. For Amsec, the base year amount is $25,.5 million, with a potential ceiling of $298.9 million. For EG&G, the base year amount is $26.4 million, and the contract has the potential to reach $286.6 million.

About 75 percent of the work will be performed at Naval facilities in the Hampton Roads, Va., area.

Work for the Navy and Coast Guard includes engineering, technical and logistics services for program support in several functional areas, including: engineering analysis, logistics support, direct fleet support, functional checks, and assessment and maintenance of shipboard systems and equipment.
