SBA e-gov boss to leave

Ron Miller, the e-government executive officer at the Small Business Administration, is leaving the federal government in July to join the private sector.

"Miller will be joining SRA International [Inc.] as a principal," according to Steve Galvan, chief operating officer and chief of staff at SBA. Miller made his decision during the past few weeks, Galvan said.

"His objective was to make sure we were able to close out the quarter successfully," Galvan said. "He's been very good about not giving a short notice."

Miller has a lengthy federal resume that includes the Office of Homeland Security, where he helped develop an information technology architecture for the Homeland Security Department.

He was working as the chief information officer at the Federal Emergency Management Agency Sept. 11, 2001.

"We've always been focused on natural disasters," Miller told Federal Computer Week at the time. "We know the seasons in which those occur. We don't have the luxury of ebb and flow now. Since Sept. 11, we've been going full blow, and we've been told that's not going to change."
