Stratcom prepares IT services award
The command responsible for missile and computer defense soon will hire an IT services firm.
The command responsible for missile and computer defense will hire an industry team in July to provide information technology services.
Strategic Command officials at Offut Air Force Base, Neb., want the winning vendors to:
Operate and maintain hardware.
Issue software licenses.
Provide local-area network and Internet access.
Support systems, 4,000 users and a mobile command center.
Administer IT help-desk and training services.
Stratcom's IT Capabilities Contract covers 10 years that industry officials value at $300 million to $400 million. The Air Force's 55th Contracting Squadron at Offut manages the procurement due for award in mid- to late July.
Lockheed Martin Corp.'s Information Technology business division in Seabrook, Md., submitted a contract proposal. Lockheed's team members include Harris Corp., Arctic Slope Regional Corp., GHG Corp., S4 Inc., Trawick & Associates and 21st Century Consulting LLC.
