Abacus wins Air Force deal
The company will get up to $70 million to run the 377th Air Base Wing's communications.
Abacus Technology Corp. received today an Air Force contract worth up to $70 million to operate the service's 377th Air Base Wing's Communications Division.
The company, based in Chevy Chase, Md., will manage voice and data communications beginning in October on the Air Force base in Albuquerque, N.M. It also will run the Base Multimedia Center and Base Information Transfer Center there, according to a July 12 Abacus statement.
Abacus will get $7.45 million for the first year, and up to $70 million during 10 years if the company meets contract incentives. Abacus previously provided voice and data communications operations for the Air Force wing, according to the statement.
