Bourgeois to lead National Business Center

Douglas Bourgeois is leaving his position as chief information officer at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office to become the director of the Interior Department's National Business Center.

In an e-mail message to his staff, Bourgeois said he was "proud to have been involved in the many significant successes you have achieved during the past three years. I thank you for your support and dedication to serving your customers. You made us look really good."

Bourgeois is replacing Tim Vigotsky, who is retiring as the center's director, a job he's held since 1997. Vigotsky said he is hoping to qualify for the senior golf circuit now called the Champions tour for players over age 50.

The center is the systems manager and computing host for Interior's departmentwide administrative ADP systems supporting budget, procurement and contracts, personnel management, finance and accounting, e-government, and other administrative services.
