Lockheed looks for logistics IT business

Lockheed Martin Corp. officials announced today that they created a new unit in the information technology division to support the military's evolving network-centric warfare strategy and pursue logistics procurements across its services and agencies.

"Our Focused Logistics Enterprise will more closely align our corporation's logistics capabilities and management processes to address our Defense customers' challenging operational requirements," said Stan Sloane, executive vice president of Lockheed Martin's Integrated Systems & Solutions in Gaithersburg, Md.

Company officials named Pete Cuviello as vice president and managing director of the Focused Logistics Enterprise. He was hired last September as a vice president of information infrastructure and most recently served as the Army's chief information officer/G-6, making a name for himself for starting the initiative to manage the service's IT programs, policies and personnel as an enterprise.
