Harris wins Space Command deal

The Air Force will pay the company $53 million for IT support of the 50th Space Wing.

Air Force officials awarded Harris Corp. a $53 million contract to provide information technology operations and maintenance support to the service's Space Command's 50th Space Wing at Schriever Air Force Base, Colo.

Officials at the company's Technical Services Corp. in Colorado Springs, Colo., will provide communications and computer support for the Air Force Satellite Control Network. The services include communications security, configuration management, database applications support and local-area network management, according to a Sept. 13 Defense Department contract's statement.

Harris officials expect to complete the work by September 2005.
