Subcontractor trio named for US-VISIT

Three companies have won deals to be subcontractors under Accenture for a U.S. Visitor and Immigrant Status Indicator Technology (US-VISIT) pilot program.

Accenture officials announced today that they have wrapped up negotiations with Raytheon Co., SRA International Inc. and Titan Corp. The goal of the pilot program is to find the most effective way to match visitors' identities with their travel documents and use technology and biometrics — digital scans of fingerprints and photos -- to speed up border processing. Interoperability with systems of other Homeland Security Department agencies, port authorities and the travel industry is also a major concern.

Raytheon will support the program's systems engineering and biometrics and lead deployment activities. Employees also will work with the overall structuring of enterprise architecture.

SRA will assist with data analysis and managing data privacy and security considerations on behalf of the Smart Border Alliance.

Quality management, configuration management and testing for systems will fall under Titan's responsibilities. Additionally, the company will support activities relating to systems engineering, system design and development, and deployment.

The negotiations were completed weeks after DHS officials began working on US-VISIT's exit portion, which is being built from scratch, presenting a larger challenge than incoming visitor registration, which builds on existing systems. Accenture won the $10 billion prime contract May 28.
