Air Force picks engineering firms
Four companies won contracts to pursue work under a $610M Space Command program.
Officials at the Air Force's Space Command awarded contracts to Booz Allen Hamilton Inc., bd Systems Inc., Scitor Corp. and SI International to pursue work under the $610 million Contract Advisory and Assistance Services and Engineering and Technical Assistance program.
The indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity contracts allow officials at the four companies to pursue advisory, assistance, engineering and technical services' work sought by command leaders, according to an Oct. 15 Defense Department statement.
The contractors will perform the work under the program primarily from their facilities. But some of the work will occur at Space Command headquarters at Peterson Air Force Base, Colo., according to DOD's statement.
Command officials can award contracts under the program until they reach its $610 million spending limit. The program runs until October 2009, according to the statement.
