The Army's program executive officer for enterprise info systems got an award for leadership.
HERSHEY, Pa. — Kevin Carroll, the Army's program executive officer in the Program Executive Officer for Enterprise Information Systems, won this year's Janice K. Mendenhall Spirit of Leadership award.
During an Oct. 25 awards dinner at this year's Executive Leadership Conference sponsored by the American Council for Technology (ACT) and the Industry Advisory Council (IAC), Carroll was honored for his work in fostering teamwork, enhancing communications and strengthening government/industry partnerships.
In presenting the award, ACT president Barry West said Carroll exemplified the ability to bring together people of different backgrounds and experience levels and turn them into a cohesive team.
"Because of his tireless devotion to the Department of Defense and 'Service by Example' for his Army PEO team, we are pleased to recognize this outstanding public servant whose action reflect great credit on the Army, the nation and our ACT/IAC organization," West said.
The annual award is given by ACT and IAC officials in memory of Mendenhall, who worked to strengthen the relationships between government and industry officials in her role in the industry/government organization.
Other awards at this year's Executive Leadership Conference sponsored by ACT/IAC:
Unisys Corp.'s Linda Martin won a chairman's award for her contributions to IAC.
AT&T Government Solutions' Janine Gray won an award for her contributions to this year's Executive Leadership Conference.
In the category of corporate contributors of the year with more than $100 million in federal revenues, EDS won an award for working to advance IAC's mission.
In the category of corporate contributors of the year with $10-100 million in federal revenue, Project Performance Corp. won an award for working to advance IAC's mission.
In the category of corporate contributors of the year with less than $10 million in federal revenue, the Ambit Group won an award for working to advance IAC's mission.
Unisys' Venkatapathi Puvvada and Broadwing Communications LLC's Rick Slifer won awards as individual contributor of the year from industry.
The Department of Veterans Affairs' Ed Meagher and the Defense Department's Tamie Lyles-Santiago won awards as individual contributors of the year from government.
