DOD to use Anteon for networks

Officials at Anteon International Corp. announced today they received a contract worth up to $150 million to provide information technology services for global enterprise computer networks that support U.S. and coalition forces during operations in Iraq and Afghanistan and conducted by NATO.

Officials at the Army's Research, Development and Engineering Command Acquisition Center awarded the five-year contract to Anteon for development, maintenance and operations IT services of the Combined Enterprise Regional Information Exchange System and the Linked Operations Intelligence Center Europe programs, according to an Oct. 5 company statement.

"Today's environment demands increasingly complex information processing and telecommunications systems to counter international terrorists, regional extremists and traditional military threats," said Joseph Kampf, president and chief executive officer of Anteon, in the statement.

This contract is the second Defense Department IT contract for global military operations that Anteon, based in Fairfax, Va., has received in the past month. Joint Forces Command officials awarded Anteon a $29 million contract to design, establish and maintain a Joint Advanced Training Technology Laboratory. The company will provide the ability to evaluate and refine training technologies, standards, architectures and capabilities before they become part of the Global Joint Training Infrastructure environment.
