Ky. revamps elections site

Kentucky Board of Elections site

Kentucky officials launched their newly redesigned elections Web site this week, which is modeled after the state's main Web portal to make it easier for citizens to find and change information before the November election.

At the core of the new State Board of Elections site is the Voter Information Center, which allows registered voters to access all information on their precincts and legislative districts. Election results and statistics are available, such as the counts for voter turnout in primary and general elections back to 1982. And the site includes a section focused on the Help America Vote Act of 2002, the state's plan to implement the law, and information on the manual and electronic voting systems certified and in place in each county.

Additionally, the site provides direct access to the Secretary of State's system with the forms and information filed by every candidate. This includes candidates for every office from president of the United States to state district judge.

"We are thrilled to offer this new site to the citizens of Kentucky," Secretary of State Trey Grayson, chairman of the State Board of Elections, said in a statement. "We are particularly proud that the Web site's format follows accessibility standards and will allow more citizens to access the many resources found on the site."
